14th Lusophone Conference on Open Science receives work proposals until April 3rd
The 2023 edition will be held at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, in September
The Lusophone Conference on Open Science (ConfOA) has just announced its 14th edition, to be held in September 2023 at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. The conference aims to bring together communities from Portuguese-speaking countries working on research, development, service management and policy-making activities related to Open Science in all its aspects. The encounter is a privileged space to promote the sharing, discussion and dissemination of knowledge, practices and research on these themes, in their various dimensions and perspectives.
This year's edition maintains the theme of the previous one: "Open Science: Diversity, Inclusion and Sustainability" and invites the community to submit work proposals in three thematic lines:
- Open Access and Open Research Data: systems, policies and practices
- Open Science and other expressions of open knowledge
- Information Management of Science and Technology
Check here the sub-themes associated with each one of the lines (RCAAP blog). Other proposals related to political, social, organizational or technical aspects of Open Science will also be welcome.
Six different types of proposals may be submitted: oral communications, demos, pecha kuchas, panels, posters, and workshops/tutorials. With the intention of promoting the generalization of Open Science best practices in the community, ConfOA adopts open peer review, requires the provision of research data used in the papers (which must be submitted in parallel with the proposal), requires the use of persistent author identifiers and assigns persistent identifiers to accepted and published papers.
All paper and Pecha Kucha proposals will be evaluated by two members of the Scientific Committee (one from Brazil and one from Portugal) and the Demo, Poster, Panel and Workshop proposals will be evaluated by the Organizing Committee. Accepted works will be published in the Scientific Journal BiblioCanto.
