On 6th May, the annual Portuguese EBSCO Open Day will take place in Lisbon. The event is part of a series of Open Days held in various cities around the world, with the focus of providing a platform for librarians to share their experiences and discuss opportunities for the future.

At the 2024 edition in Lisbon, topics such as artificial intelligence, the present and future of transformative agreements, and transformative technologies for library services will be addressed - all of them treated from a multi-perspective to leverage the dissemination of knowledge, with the support of trends that promise to change the way academic libraries are seen and lived.

The UC's Vice-Rector for Communication, Culture and Open Science, Delfim Leão, is one of the event's confirmed guests to debate the topic of complementary alternatives to transformative agreements for Open Access publishing. The panel will also include Tatiana Sanches (University of Lisbon), Juan Burriel Bielza (Cambridge University Press) and Gareth Dyke (Bentham Science Publishers), moderated by Arturo Rodrigues (EBSCO).

The full programme for the event, which runs from 9 am to 3 pm, is available via this link.
