Open Science and social impact is the theme of an online conference in April

The international organisation https://aesisnet.com/ , dedicated to advancing and evaluating the social impact of science, is organising the Open Science and Social Impact conference, to be held on 24 and 25 April 2024. The event will take place virtually and aims to bring together experts from around the world to analyse the current challenges of open science, such as the growth of AI, the geopolitical state and open access strategies.

Some of the conference's thematic sessions will discuss, among others:

  • Open science policies for the good of society
  • Incentive strategies and policies that can be put in place to stimulate open science
  • Safe spaces to facilitate open scientific discourse in academia and promote public trust and understanding between academics and other stakeholder groups
  • Analysing the geopolitical implications of global policies on access to academic publications and research data
  • Open science and AI
  • Next steps for effective knowledge exchange in an international open science landscape


The event is aimed at researchers, experts, librarians, leaders and advocates of open science.

Registrations made by 15 February will receive a discount on the registration fee.
