Can I also present my research in this way, with this simplicity?
To open the 2023/2024 edition of PubhD Coimbra in September, doctoral student Bráulio Lopes spoke to us about his research project: "Why doesn't the school speak my language?". And there were broken plates on this subject! Braúlio Lopes is a member of the Faculty of Sports Sciences and Physical Education, in the Sports Sciences doctoral program.
Why did you decide to participate in PubhD Coimbra?
I watched it last year and enjoyed the other colleagues' exercise. I asked myself, "Can I also talk about and present part of my research project in this way, with this simplicity, this synthesis?". So I parachuted down the gorge.
How was your experience in this edition of PubhD Coimbra?
I felt understood, and at ease and could master what I was talking about. I felt like an expert! I was inside the thing, I had authority and autonomy. And I managed to get the whole audience on my side and we made a presentation that wasn't mine, but ours. I loved it!
Would you advise other colleagues to participate?
I don't just recommend it - I recommend it a lot! If you want to do an exercise in communicating science in 10 minutes, join PubhD! It's the best thing you can do. And anyone who doesn't take part is missing out.
