On 25 and 26 November, the eighth edition of the Research Data Management Forum (Fórum de Gestão de Dados de Investigação) will take place at UC. The Forum is an initiative for training, debate and sharing of ideas, initiatives and best practices in research data management. The event will take place in person and will include two workshops, flash talks to present initiatives, good practices and projects, and a panel discussion on emerging topics.

The deadline for proposals submissions for the flash talks, initially open until 24 September, was extended until 30 September. The flash talks follow a "24x7" presentation model, consisting of a 7-minute presentation with a maximum of 24 slides. The template aims to briefly present and share the essentials of relevant projects, infrastructures, initiatives and best practices for the support of Research Data Management.

The submission template is available on the Forum website.

The Research Data Management Forum is organised by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) through the FCCN unit, and by the University of Minho, being promoted within the scope of the activities of the RCAAP – Scientific Repositories of Open Access in Portugal. At UC, the event has the support of the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research.

The event is aimed at managers of digital repositories and data centres, information technicians, libraries, archives and data curators, computer specialists, researchers, data scientists and science managers from research institutions and science funding bodies.
