Two free webinars, on February and March, will introduce the themes, program, participants and information about the sessions of the International Data Week (IDW) 2021. The sessions will focus on the same topics, but at different times: from 8 to 8:45 am (February 16) and from 1 to 1:45 pm (March 4) - in continental Portugal time.

The International Data Week (IDW) will take place between 8 and 11 November in Seoul, South Korea, and will address topics such as the state of Open Science and its research at a global level; transparency, accountability and reproducibility of the investigation; the interface between research and innovation in data; citizen science; and data stewardship, data science and data literacy.

The event will bring together data scientists, researchers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, policy makers and data stewards from diverse disciplines, globally, to discuss how to best explore the data revolution for the improvement of science and society through data-driven discovery and innovation. IDW 2021 will combine the plenary meeting of the Research Data Alliance (RDA), a biannual meeting of the international organization that works to develop and support the global infrastructure facilitating data sharing and reuse; and SciDataCon 2021, a scientific conference that addresses the frontiers of data in research and is organized by CODATA (International Science Council's Committee on Data) and WDS (World Data System).

IDW 2021 will be hosted by the Korean Institute of Information Science and Technology (KISTI), committed by the Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technologies, Seoul Metropolitan Government, National Library of Korea, and the National Assembly Library, with the support from the Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) and Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU).
