On the 13th and 15th of April, the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research (iiiUC) promotes, in partnership with the ReSEED Project and the UC General Library (BGUC), an extraordinary session of the initiative "iiiUC Training - Research Support Tools", focusing on the theme of Open Science. The training will take place via Zoom, during the afternoon, and registrations (which can be done through this link) are free, but limited to 25 attendees.

The training aims to increase awareness, within the UC community, on the relevant contribution that Open Science represents and on the commitments to be assumed by institutions and projects, in accordance with the requirements of research and innovation programs from the European Commission regarding the management of research data and the conditions of access to the publications. The course also aims to disseminate the work that has already being done at the UC, with the development and management of its Open Access institutional repository - the Estudo Geral - in line with European recommendations and the National Open Science Policy.

The training will consist of two modules, on April 13 (Tuesday) and April 15 (Thursday), from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. On the 13th (module 1 - Open Science), the main concepts, doubts and paths for the practice of Open Science will be addressed. The module will be presented by Caroline Delmazo, communicator and manager of the ReSEED project, which is funded by the European Research Council.

The 15th of April (module 2) will be dedicated to the General Study of the UC, focusing on aspects of the university's open access digital repository. The modules will include practical activities, both individual and in group.

The first edition of the training "Open Science: Pathways for Practice at UC" will have a limitation of 25 participants. This first edition is aimed at PhD students, with the preferential criteria of holding a FCT scholarship and attending the last years of the course. Other criteria, such as a proportional distribution of participants among the organic units, research centers and doctoral courses, will also be observed.
