Diamond Open Access: community workshop on 18 September

Online event is aimed at supporters of the Diamond Open Access Action Plan

With the intention of preparing discussions for the global summit on Diamond Open Access (which will take place in October in Mexico), Science Europe, cOAlition S and OPERAS communities, together with the French National Research Agency, are holding the second community webinar next Monday, 18 September.

Besides discussing the objectives and goals of the Global Diamond Open Access Summit that will take place between 23 and 27 October in Toluca, the community will also review and make suggestions for the draft declaration that will be launched at the event.

To take part, you need to be a supporter of the Action Plan for Diamond Open Access, launched in March 2022. If you are interested in becoming a member of the community and taking part, you can endorse the action plan via this link.

Diamond Open Access Global Summit

The aim of the Diamond Open Access Global Summit is to bring together the Diamond Open Access community in a dialogue between journal publishers, organisations, experts and stakeholders from the Global South and North, seeking to implement collective action in the spirit of the UNESCO and BOAI 20 Year Recommendations on Open Science, where Equity, Sustainability, Quality and Usability are the pillars of the work.

About the Action Plan for Diamond Open Access

The Action Plan for Diamond Open Access was launched in March 2022. Since then, it has been endorsed by 155 organisations and 150 individuals. To emphasise the global perspective of the community, the Action Plan has already been translated into Croatian, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish, with more translations on the way.
