BGUC representative discusses Open Access models at EBSCO event in Lisbon

On Thursday, 30 March, Lisbon will host the EBSCO Open Day event to discuss topics related to the contribution of libraries in knowledge creation and dissemination, research, education and outreach that support the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. The event will feature leading guests from the world of academic libraries in Portugal, representatives from international publishers and EBSCO. Ana Eva Miguéis, from the Integrated Management Services and Systems Area of the UC General Library, will represent the university in a roundtable discussing the challenges of Open Science and Open Access Models at the event, along with representatives from the University of Minho, b-on, Cambridge University Press and EBSCO.

During the round table, each of the representatives will address the theme under discussion in different aspects and in a complementary way, including the role of publishers and the new publishing models; the possibilities that the new models enhance for publishers; FCT's focus on open access and its forms of implementation; sustainability, equity and innovation in scientific publishing; and open access through new models.
