New publication! Identifying bottlenecks in the life cycle of plants living on cliffs and rocky slopes: Lack of knowledge hinders conservation actions

An article has recently been published that results from the work carried out by "WG 1 - Improving knowledge in plant biology for appropriate in situ conservation", of COST Action ConservePlants!
A group of scientists, including Sílvia Castro from the FLOWer Lab, assessed whether the information that currently exists on the reproductive biology of threatened plants is adequate to identify which stages of their life cycles can act as a critical point for their survival.
Focussing on a group of 80 threatened species that live on cliffs and rocky slopes, with information from 10 countries, some of the conclusions they reached are:
Most of the available information focuses on the flowering stage, with a lack of information on the remaining stages of the life cycle;
Flowering is rarely a critical phase in the life cycle;
