Several members of FLOWer Lab, including the visitor Bojana Stojanová, participated yesterday in the Field Course in Mediterranean Ecosystems of the International Master in Applied Ecology (Departamento de Ciências da Vida - UC), where they highlighted some practical and theoretical-practical aspects of the research we conduct in FLOWer Lab, in the area of Floral Biology and Pollination Ecology.
In the morning, Sílvia Castro, Catarina Siopa and Sara Lopes were dedicated to a class on floral biology and reproductive systems, while Hugo Gaspar explained how to process and identify pollinating insects.
In the afternoon, there was an opportunity to show some pollinator sampling methods. Also, Bojana Stojanvoa, showed how we can assess reproductive systems using genetic data.
