Bio:

Nuno Canas Mendes is an associate professor at the Institute of Social and Political Sciences, University of Lisbon. He is also president of Instituto do Oriente (Portuguese Institute for Asian Studies), and his main research interests are Southeast Asian politics and regional integration.
