DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION: RETHINKING SPATIAL AND TRANSPORT PLANNING
Digitalisation is transforming the way spatial and transport planning is conceived, designed, implemented, and governed. Operating at the intersection of data, technology, and human experience, spatial and transport planning now demands innovative, interdisciplinary approaches to interpret complexity, foster inclusion, and address global challenges such as climate change and environmental sustainability.
The 17th International Conference on Territory, Transports and Environment invites scholars, practitioners, policymakers and other stakeholders to critically examine how digitalisation can drive innovation towards equitable, efficient, and resilient urban and territorial futures. This edition will explore the wide range of implications of digital transformation from spatial planning, public participation, and governance to mobility and transport infrastructure resilience. Key topics include inclusive participation, AI-based governance, data-driven decision-making, digital twins, and real-time systems, alongside ethical concerns related to data ownership, privacy, and cybersecurity.
The conference aims to foster a rigorous and forward-looking debate on how digital innovation can catalyse collaboration and progress in spatial and transport systems, while also welcoming diverse perspectives — from those advancing its potential to those interrogating its social, environmental, and ethical implications for territory and mobility.
