Call for Special Sessions (open until 31 March 2023)

The next edition of ECTQG will take place in Braga (Portugal) between 14 and 17 September 2023, being organised by CITTA – the Research Centre for Territory, Transport and Environment of the Universities of Coimbra and Porto (https://citta.fe.up.pt/).

Similarly to previous editions, the ECTQG’23 programme will include Special Sessions dedicated to hot thematic issues within the ECTQG scope, such as epistemology and theory, geographic information science, geovisualisation, spatial statistics, spatial interactions, networks, big geo-data, agent-based models, computer simulations, artificial life and intelligence, time geography, geo-history/archaeology, urban patterns and growth, fractals, scaling laws, economic geography, environmental and social sustainability, climate change, health geography, and transport and land use.

If you would like to propose a Special Session, please send an email to 2023@ectqg.eu before 31 March 2023, including the name(s) of the organiser(s), a short title for the session, a half-page description of its scope, and possible intentions and plans to publish a special issue in a journal. Each Special Session will have between 4 and 6 registered participants.

Accepted Special Sessions will be listed and described on the colloquium website. At the time of abstract submissions (which will take place between 1 April and 15 May 2023), researchers will be able to attach their abstract to an accepted Special Session or will be allocated to general themes of the ECTQG. The organiser(s) of Special Sessions will be in charge of abstracts selection after a pre-screening from the Local Organising Committee.
