Created by a team of healthcare professionals specializing in perinatal mental health, Be a Mom is a fully online, interactive, self-help program whose main mission is to promote the psychological well-being of women in the postpartum period.
Be a Mom is:

- Based on cognitive-behavioral therapy strategies
- Self-paced, allowing each user to go through it at their own rhythm
The program is structured into five thematic modules:
- Changes in motherhood and emotions
- Thoughts
- Values and relationships with others
- Couple’s relationship
- Warning signs and final reflection
Each module includes practical exercises, guided reflections, and useful everyday tools that help participants develop strategies to improve their mental health.
Proven effectiveness:
The program was tested in a clinical trial involving over 1000 women in Portugal, both with and without elevated risk for postpartum depression, and showed:
- Significant reductions in symptoms of depression and anxiety, particularly in women at high risk for postpartum depression;
- Significant increases in well-being, especially in women at low risk for postpartum depression;
- Sustained therapeutic gains at four and twelve months after completing the program;
- High satisfaction and positive evaluations of the content and usefulness of the strategies presented.
