Created by a team of healthcare professionals specializing in perinatal mental health, Be a Mom is a fully online, interactive, self-help program whose main mission is to promote the psychological well-being of women in the postpartum period.

Be a Mom is:

  • 100% online and free
  • Based on cognitive-behavioral therapy strategies
  • Self-paced, allowing each user to go through it at their own rhythm

The program is structured into five thematic modules:

  1. Changes in motherhood and emotions
  2. Thoughts
  3. Values and relationships with others
  4. Couple’s relationship
  5. Warning signs and final reflection

Each module includes practical exercises, guided reflections, and useful everyday tools that help participants develop strategies to improve their mental health.

Proven effectiveness:

The program was tested in a clinical trial involving over 1000 women in Portugal, both with and without elevated risk for postpartum depression, and showed:

  • Significant reductions in symptoms of depression and anxiety, particularly in women at high risk for postpartum depression;
  • Significant increases in well-being, especially in women at low risk for postpartum depression;
  • Sustained therapeutic gains at four and twelve months after completing the program;
  • High satisfaction and positive evaluations of the content and usefulness of the strategies presented.
