Innovation Unit

The Innovation Unit, directly under the UC Business Technology Transfer Division, acts as a strategic link between the University of Coimbra and external entities, contributing to strengthening the relationship between UC and society and the business sector, acting in:

• Projects and technology transfer: develops joint projects with industry and promotes knowledge transfer;
• Partnerships and internal coordination: mobilizes multidisciplinary teams and UC units in more complex initiatives;
• Funding: identifies and disseminates opportunities, monitors support lines and encourages scientific patronage;
• Technological valorization: evaluates R&D technologies, defines the road-to-market and supports the protection of intellectual property;
• Market linkage: facilitates the relationship between researchers and companies, promoting the entry of R&I results into the market;
• Networks and positioning: manages UC's participation in national and international technology transfer networks.
