University of Coimbra hosts event on pedagogical innovation, mental health and academic success in higher education

The conference takes place today and tomorrow at the Rectory Auditorium and will be attended by the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation and the Minister of Youth and Modernisation.

The University of Coimbra (UC) is hosting today and tomorrow (24 and 25 October) an event organised by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation under the theme "Innovation and Wellbeing for Success: Pedagogical Innovation, mental health and Success in higher education".

The opening session was addressed today by Fernando Alexandre, Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, and Amílcar Falcão, Rector of UC,

The event will present three programmes, two funded by the PRR (Recovery and Resilience Plan) and one by the State Budget, aimed at addressing mental health, academic drop-out and innovation.

There will also be parallel sessions about several projects related to Centres of Excellence, Mental Health and Promotion and Success, as well as a space for exchanging ideas on the structure of pedagogical reforms in higher education.

Poster presentations and networking opportunities for participants will also be part of the conference, as well as the presentation of the National Council for Pedagogical Innovation and its challenges(CNIPES) tomorrow at 2 pm, (CNIPES), chaired by Terry Maguire.

The Minister of Youth and Modernisation, Margarida Balseiro Lopes, the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Fernando Alexandre, and the Director General for Higher Education, Joaquim Mourato, will chair the closing session tomorrow at 17:00.
