The European Innovation Academy (EIA) has already started with the International Startup and Innovation Bootcamp, which will run until the 2nd of August at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto.

Ten students from the University of Coimbra (UC) are participating in the event, travelling and learning simultaneously, with close mentoring from various leaders in entrepreneurship and innovation.

Participants will be able to test their business ideas in a risk-free environment while learning more about product features, customer validation and prototyping; market validation, marketing campaign design and launch, pitching, IP (intellectual property) and investors.

The course aims to provide students with a real, hands-on experience of setting up a start-up business with other students from all over the world. The course is held in a real-world context where students form international teams of 5 and acquire the skills and know-how to develop their business idea from concept to market.

At the end of the programme, each participant will receive a certificate issued by the University of Porto. The certificate is worth 6 ECTS. Scholarships for students to participate in the initiative were provided by the University of Coimbra, with the support of Santander.

The European Innovation Academy is the largest summer entrepreneurship programme in the world, with a special focus on problems worth solving.
