The University of Coimbra (UC) will host the first edition of the UC Sports Week from 8 to 14 April 2024. This initiative aims to bring the benefits of sport to the UC campuses, integrating it with other areas of knowledge. The programme includes open physical activity classes, conferences, round tables and various other activities, as well as the presentation of the AAC/UC teams participating in the finals of the 2024 National University Championships.

"We've prepared a wide-ranging programme to get everyone involved. In this first edition, we explored the relationship between sport, science and technology and medicine, with a lot of help from FCDEFUC, FCTUC and FMUC, but the purpose of this week is that every year we can strengthen the relationship between sport and different areas of knowledge," explains UC Pro-Rector for Sport, Filipa Godinho.

Godinho further adds that “The University of Coimbra plays an important role in promoting the practice of sport in higher education, and now it's time for us to contribute more to the interdisciplinary development of sport through research and by putting the knowledge of our academic community into practice 'on the ground'."
