The University of Coimbra is one of the institutions that can benefit from the donation of 0.5% of our IRS. The proceeds go to the Social Support Fund. At no cost to you or your household, you can select the University of Coimbra (UC) when filling in Box 11 of Form 3 of the Personal Income Tax (IRS). Just type UC's tax number (501 61 75 82) and you'll be donating 0.5% of your IRS to UC.

The amount collected through the IRS will be allocated to the Social Support Fund (FAS), a specific support programme of the University of Coimbra, complementary to the scholarships.

The purpose of the FAS is twofold: on the one hand, to cover the tuition fees of students without scholarships who have obvious and proven financial difficulties and, on the other hand, to deal with situations of proven emergency. Read more about FAS here.

The tax return period runs from the 1st of April to the 30th of June.
