The official Launch of the PhD degree in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine of the University of Coimbra (DPEBB) takes place today, the 21st of December, at 2:30 pm at Euclides Pires Auditorium, in the building of UC-Biotech/Biocant Park, in Cantanhede.

This PhD programme is part of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research of the University of Coimbra (IIIUC) and is coordinated by the Centre for Neuroscience and Cell Biology of the University of Coimbra (CNC-UC).

There are 15 advanced courses available this academic year, running between January and May 2022, which will address topics such as neuroscience, cancer, advanced therapies, proteomics, metabolism, infection, drugs, computational biology and science communication.

The courses are taught by national and international experts, with advanced scientific syllabi, and are coordinated by researchers from CNC-UC.

According to Paulo Oliveira, coordinator of the doctoral programme, "DPEBB is an innovative concept of interdisciplinary doctoral training in biomedicine and biotechnology that allows students to design their learning path according to the career they wish to pursue. The inherent multidisciplinarity of this degree contributes to increasing the competitiveness and excellence of the doctoral students, enabling them to become top players in the careers they choose".

The training sessions available are open not only to DPEBB students but also to students from other doctoral programmes (either of the UC or other institutions).
