The international research team responsible for the project "LIVING RIVER - Caring and protecting the life and culture around rivers and streams" (www.livingriver.eu/) is holding a meeting at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra until the 24th of October.

The programme of the meeting includes a course dedicated to the study of watercourses, the knowledge of these ecosystems, the relationships established with the surrounding populations and their protection.

The LIVING RIVER project aims to make the school community and society aware of the need to care for and protect watercourses, not only for their undeniable environmental and ecological importance, but also for their high historical, social and cultural value. The project is coordinated by ASPEA (Portuguese Association for Environmental Education) and co-financed by the ERASMUS+ programme.
