Catarina Costa grabs bronze in Tokyo Grand Slam

Catarina Costa secured the bronze medal in the women's -48kg class at the Tokyo Grand Slam, the 16th and final event of the 2023 IJF World Tour. [International Judo Federation]

The athlete representing Associação Académica de Coimbra/University of Coimbra (AAC-UC) secured victory over Taipei's judoka, Chen-Hao Lin. Demonstrating control throughout, she sealed the victory after imposing a third penalty on her opponent.

Catarina holds the 8th position in the IJF World ranking and has already qualified for the 2024 Olympics.
