Beatriz Moreira wins bronze at the 2024 European European Universities Games

The AAC/UC judoka won the bronze medal in the -78kg (judo) category at the EUSA Games 2024 in Hungary.

Beatriz Moreira, a student at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra (FPCEUC), won a bronze medal in the women's -78kg judo category in Hungary at the 2024 European Universities Games (EUSA). On Friday 12 July, Moreira triumphed over Oceane Ahuelie from the University of Orléans to claim one of three medals for Portugal.

In addition to Moreira's success, UC students Bruno Caldeira (-60kg) and Bernardo Tralhão (+60kg) also competed in the judo competition. Caldeira made it to the last sixteen, while Tralhão reached the quarter-finals.

Alexandre Loio, from the UC Faculty of Sport Sciences and Physical Education, competed in kickboxing (KL Men -74) and reached the quarter-finals.

EUSA 2024 took place in Debrecen and Miskolc, Hungary, with the participation of several student athletes from the Coimbra Academic Association/Associação Académica de Coimbra [AAC] and the University of Coimbra. Check more at https://eug2024.eu/
