The University of Coimbra (UC) will host the second edition of SoapBox Science, taking place on the 23rd of November in order to promote "women and their science".

Female researchers from the University of Coimbra are invited to take part in the global science communication initiative that "transforms public spaces such as parks, streets and beaches into an arena for public learning and scientific debate", according to the organisation. In Coimbra, the challenge will take place in the city centre, with scientists "climbing into a wooden box and presenting their research in a simple and clear way, without a microphone".

Applications for the initiative are now open and are aimed at PhD students, faculty and researchers at different stages of their career at the UC.

The deadline for submitting applications is the 29th of September at 5pm. All information about the 2023 edition and how to apply can be found here.
