"Moving Forward Together" is the motto of the 7th EC2U Forum, bringing together the members of the European Campus of University Cities (EC2U) once again.

The University of Poitiers (France) will host students, teachers, researchers and staff from 9 European institutions: University of Coimbra, University of Poitiers, Friedrich Schiller University of Jena (Germany), Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania), University of Salamanca (Spain), University of Pavia (Italy), University of Turku (Finland), Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine) and Johannes Kepler University Linz (Austria). Besides the university communities, several municipalities and strategic partners from each university will also be present.

The 7th edition of the bi-annual EC2U meeting will focus on celebrating three years of collaboration and reflecting on the future together. A future that will kick off in November 2023.

The Alliance successfully applied to the European Commission's 2023 Call of the European Universities initiative and secured funding of €14.4 million, which will allow the launch of the second phase of EC2U.

The 7th edition of the EC2U meeting will feature roundtables on topics related to higher education and sustainability in different areas - namely those related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), and Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (SDG 16). The event will also host the Science Battle final, a scientific promotion initiative that will gather 12 scientists from two universities to answer questions posed by the public in a simple and fun way. This grand final will be held between the University of Pavia and the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena on the 18th of October at 3.30pm (Portugal time) and will be live-streamed on the EC2U YouTube channel.
