"la Caixa Foundation" - Social Research Call 2026 | Deadline: 22 Jan. 2026
The Social Observatory of the “la Caixa” Foundation announces the launch of the Social Research Call 2026 (SRC 2026).
This Call aims to support innovative, excellent social research projects that use robust quantitative data analysis and innovative approaches to generate reliable knowledge for policymakers and practitioners. Proposals must be focused on researching social sciences and humanities and contribute new knowledge to understand current and emerging social issues. The geographic scope must be Spain and/or Portugal.
Applicants (“project leaders”) must have obtained their PhD at least two years before the submission deadline set out in the Rules for Participation (i.e., before 22 January 2024).
Applications led by individual researchers of any nationality who carry out their research activity at a public or private university, or a non-profit research-performing organisation legally based in Portugal or Spain will be accepted.
In this edition, “la Caixa” Foundation will support social research projects of up to 24 months in duration, with each project eligible for up to €115,000.
The application process will take place in two stages: the submission of a short proposal by 22 January 2026 (13:00 CET); and only selected candidates will be invited to submit a full proposal by 23 April 2026 (13:00 CET).
