Science in the family, science for everyone!
We are truly proud to share that the project Science Family – your science is familiar to me, coordinated by our researcher Miguel Ferreira*, was one of the winners of the 5th Edition of the Promotion of Scientific Culture Awards at the University of Coimbra!
This innovative project is built on a simple but powerful idea:
- capturing spontaneous explanations about science within the family and showing how it is understood in everyday life.
- fostering intergenerational dialogue around science.
- challenging preconceptions and opening space for new ways of thinking about knowledge.
With the involvement of the research units CFE and CQC, Science Family demonstrates that science does not live only in laboratories – it also lives in our homes, in conversations with those closest to us, becoming a natural and accessible part of everyday life in society.
Congratulations, Miguel, on this recognition, which highlights the importance of a participatory, approachable and human science!
