Call for Papers | POIÉSIS Magazine
The Poiésis Journal of the Postgraduate Programme in Education at the University of Southern Santa Catarina (PPGE/UniSul) invites researchers to contribute to the Thematic Dossier: ‘Critical Environmental Education Experiences with Traditional Communities in Coastal and Marine Environments’Editors: Rodrigo Rodrigues de Freitas (PPGE/UniSul) and Fátima Alves (UAb; CFE-UC) Objective of the dossier: As part of the participation of the Centre for Functional Ecology (CFE) in the Marangatu Network, through the CFE-UC Associated Project, this call for thematic dossiers reinforces the importance of promoting Critical Environmental Education practices among traditional communities in coastal and marine territories, contributing to sustainability and the valorisation of local knowledge. It also aims to analyse Critical Environmental Education initiatives that promote autonomy and sustainability in Traditional Peoples and Communities (PCTs), recognising them as guardians of coastal and marine territories in the face of the challenges of the Anthropocene.
Topics of interest include:
- Traditional knowledge and sustainability
- Public policies and local knowledge in environmental education
- Climate justice and community participation
- Activism and ecological preservation
- Women's leadership in marine environmental education
- Spiritual and ecological connections in educational practices
