PhD candidate Jorge Moreira*(CFE/FEUC) will contribute to the debates of the Colloquium of Sociology Doctoral Students at FEUC – Sociologias para o Futuro, presenting two papers that engage with the Anthropocene, spirituality, and sustainable communities:
- “Beings in the World Who Can Touch-the-World: Resonance in Intentional Sustainable Communities” – presented in GT1, this paper highlighted how intentional communities construct new ways of life, grounded in practices of care, resonance, and a deep connection with the environment | 2 October, 11:15
- “Spirituality and Contemplative Practices in Intentional Sustainable Communities” – delivered in GT7, this paper reflected on the role of spiritual and contemplative dimensions as integral to collective life and to the search for sustainable alternatives in a world in crisis | 3 October, 14:30
In addition, the doctoral student was also responsible for:

Moderating Session 2 – Religiosities of GT7 Religion/s and the Multiple Altars of Modernity, reinforcing his active participation in the event.

Co-coordinating the Parallel Session GT1 Cities, Societies and the Anthropocene, together with Cíntia Fachada.
His contributions demonstrated how sociology can engage with innovative community practices, offering pathways to imagine and live futures that are more sustainable, solidaristic, and spiritually connected.
