The creation, use and management of controlled vocabularies for the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) is the focus of a webinar on 20 April, presented by the TRIPLE (Transforming Research through Innovative Practices for Interdisciplinary Research) and SSHOC (the Social Sciences and Humanities Open Cloud) projects.

The webinar aims to present what vocabularies in the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) are and why they are so important; how to create a multilingual vocabulary for SSH (the TRIPLE case); and to discuss the variety of vocabularies and management needs in SSH: how to build an interoperable infrastructure for vocabularies (the SSHOC case).

Controlled vocabularies are organised arrangements of words and phrases used to annotate, index and retrieve content through browsing or searching. Multilingualism is an essential feature for SSH, which is why multilingual vocabularies are greatly needed.

Registration for the training is free and can be done through this link. The webinar will be presented by Daan Broeder (CLARIN ERIC/SSHOC), Haris Georgiadis (EKT/TRIPLE) and Nikos Vasilogamvrakis (EKT), with moderation by Iraklis Katsaloulis (EKT).
