The second edition of the Promotion of Scientific Culture initiative (2021) is officially launched this Tuesday, May 25. The program will provide financial support for Scientific Communication activities, with an interdisciplinary and cultural scientific nature, which disseminate the knowledge produced at the University of Coimbra to different audiences. The initiative is carried out through the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research (IIIUC).

The initiative, aimed at the whole scientific community of UC, will financially support up to 10 activities/initiatives, with a maximum value of 750 € each. Interdisciplinary and original activities promoted by teams of researchers who belong to at least two Units of Research and Development (R&D) of the UC group from different scientific areas are eligible.

The activities to be submitted to the application must promote the dialogue between culture and science, disseminating the knowledge produced at UC to the wider public - not strictly academic or scientific. The teams must integrate PhD students from UC and follow the principles of the UC Plan for Equality, Equity and Diversity 2019-2023, namely with regard to gender equity and diversity. Activities should also ensure compliance with the legal provisions and recommendations of the Portuguese General Health Directorate (DGS - Direção Geral de Saúde).

Applications will be open until 5 pm on June 14, 2021, and must be made through the completion of a form, available here.

More details about the applications are available on the IIIUC website.
