The OPERAS consortium - European infrastructure for the development of open science communication in the social and human sciences - has just received four new members, among them, the Portuguese Association of Higher Education Publishers (APEES). In addition to the Portuguese association, the DH+ group from Switzerland joined the consortium; the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Zagreb, Croatia; the Center for Evaluation in Education and Science of Serbia. The Research Center of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Slovenia, previously a common member, becomes part of the Executive Assembly (also called "core group", of which the UC is a member).

With the arrival of new members, the consortium will have participants from Switzerland and Serbia, places where it was not yet present.

The OPERAS project remains open to the entry of new members: any organization in Europe and the world can apply for membership, as long as it follows the principles - definitions of OPERAS for Open Science, Open Access and the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).

Members can take part in the development of OPERAS services and decision-making, receiving coordination, networking and support in relation to issues of open science communication for the humanities and social sciences.

There are different types of membership available: Observer, Associate member, Ordinary member, Core Group member (Executive Assembly) and Support member.
