Another session of the iiiUC Trainings - Research Support Tools takes place on Tuesday, 22nd November, at 14h30, focusing on the Estudo Geral ("General Study"), the institutional repository of the University of Coimbra. The General Study was created with the purpose of preserving, disseminating and providing access to the scientific production of the UC, increasing its visibility and that of its researchers. The session "Estudo Geral 2.0: a destination for your research results" will be led by Ana Migués, from the General Library of the University of Coimbra, with a perspective directed to the University's researchers.

The central questions to be answered during the session include: what is the General Study; what is this tool used for and what are the benefits of its use. The repository has more than 53,000 deposited documents, is integrated into RCAAP (Open Access Scientific Repositories of Portugal) and has been subject to improvements and new features, always ensuring its interoperability with other systems.

Throughout the session, its most recent components and some aspects of its use will also be emphasised, such as:

  • Compliance with Open Access policies
  • Structure and organisation
  • Depositing processes
  • Generation of indicators
  • Completion of researcher profiles
  • Use of other identifiers
  • Association to research centres
  • Association to projects

The training aims to contribute to the affirmation of the importance of the Estudo Geral in the dissemination of scientific research carried out at the UC, as well as in the visibility of researchers as active members of the University.
The event will be held online, in Portuguese, and is open to the entire UC Community.

Registration is free, but mandatory, and should be done through this link: https://ls.uc.pt/index.php/671455.
