Multilingualism in the Social Sciences and Humanities is the theme of online sessions in November

Vice-Rector for Culture and Open Science of UC, Delfim Leão, presents lectures on the 17th and 23rd

The theme of Multilingualism in open scholarly communication in the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) is the focus of two events taking place between this and next week, on 17 and 23 November, with the participation of the UC Vice-Rector for Culture and Open Science, Delfim Leão.

The online session on Wednesday 17th is part of the event "The Munin Conference on Scholarly Publishing", organized by Artic University of Norway. During the session, Delfim Leão will discuss the main findings of the studies conducted over the last few years in the OPERAS consortium within the Special Interest Group (SIG) focused on the topic of Multilingualism, and will also present the main future challenges for Multilingualism on scholarly communication.

Next Monday, 23rd, the Vice-Rector of the UC will be one of the keynote speakers at the Université Libre de Bruxelles to discuss the same topic during the "First European Symposium of SSH Journals".

Multilingualism in open scholarly communication

The University of Coimbra leads the Special Interest Group (SIG) of the OPERAS consortium - which is focused on the SSH - on Multilingualism. The European Research Infrastructure will hold, between the end of November and December, a series of workshops to present and review the results of the work carried out on the topics of interest. Besides Multilingualism, topics such as Advocacy, business models for Open Access, FAIR standards and principles, Research and Development tools, among others, are included.
