The 13th Lusophone Conference on Open Science (ConfOA) will take place between 10 and 12 October this year in Maputo, Mozambique, under the theme "Open Science: Diversity, Inclusion and Sustainability". The event aims to bring together communities from Portuguese-speaking countries that carry out research, development, service management and policy-making activities related to Open Science in all its aspects - from Open Access to Scientific Information and Research Data.

The Conference receives submissions until April 4, adopting good Open Science practices in its organization and selection of papers: open peer review, provision of the research data used in the papers, and persistent identifiers of authors and of accepted and published papers.

Different types of proposals are accepted, including oral communication of general case research papers; demos of tools, products and services with potential interest for the promotion and support of Open Access and Open Science practices; "Pecha kuchas", 7-minute presentations with up to 24 slides on recent or completed research and development work; panels, posters; workshops and tutorials (more details here).

Submitted papers must be linked to the following themes: "Open Access and Open Research Data: systems, policies and practices"; "Open Science and other expressions of open knowledge" and "Science and Technology Information Management". Check the sub-themes of each of the topics on the official webpage of the event.

The papers and Pecha Kucha proposals will be evaluated by two members of the Scientific Committee - one from Brazil and one from Portugal - and the Demos, Posters, Panels and Workshops proposals will be evaluated by the Organizing Committee. Approaching the practice of open peer review, increasingly advocated as an Open Science practice, the identity of the authors and reviewers of each paper will be publicized.

The Lusophone Conference on Open Science assumes itself as the privileged space to promote the sharing, discussion and dissemination of knowledge, practices and research on the themes of Open Science, in all its dimensions and perspectives. In this edition, the conference is hosted by Eduardo Mondlane University.
