The collection of Nabais Conde maps - acquired in 2005 by the General Library from Carlos Alberto Nabais Conde, professor and researcher at the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Coimbra - is one of the most remarkable and complete sets of Portuguese historical maps. It includes several Ptolemaic versions of the Iberian Peninsula (15th century), a complete copy of the first map of Portugal printed in 1561 by the publisher Tremezzini and many other gems (most of them hand-colored).

The 1200 copies, already fully digitized, are being integrated in Almamater (Digital Library of the Old Fund of the University of Coimbra) and soon they can all be accessed online.
