It is available, until August 25, a survey from cOAlition S project , coordinated by the OPERAS infrastructure, on free open access magazines and publishing platforms for readers and authors - also known as the "diamond model". The OPERAS consortium, in parallel, is launching a crowdsourcing effort to inventory magazines of this type that are not yet available in the main databases, such as DOAJ.

The study aims to assess the intensity and breadth of Diamond OA (Open Access) magazine offerings worldwide. With a frequently underestimated impact, journals published in diamond model serve specific areas of research in different languages and are attuned to the specific local or regional needs of various editorial cultures. In drawing a more complete picture of this universe, the survey now open must identify concrete ways to bring together, coordinate and support this sector in the future.

The survey can be answered by editorial and scientific teams of diamond-type journals at this link. Anyone can also help the project to identify more magazines by contributing to a spreadsheet available online (access here). The survey is available in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. The study will cover all disciplines and the entire global landscape. The analysis will focus on Europe as a whole and Latin America.
