The project "Beyond Covid-19", from the consortium for open science communication in the humanities and social sciences OPERAS, is currently open to contributions. The project receives contributions from any interested person and can be published with a Creative Commons license.

The purpose of building a references library about Covid-19 in the social sciences and humanities is related to the search for understanding the transformations that society is going through during the pandemic. The first step is to select various publications that can give support to this endeavor, adding validated publications (books and scientific articles) that have gone through a peer review process. The open library of references is complemented by a library in Zotero where the selected publications are stored.

The proposal is to feed the reference library with reading notes in a research notebook on the Hypotheses platform (OPERAS).

Participation in the project must take place in 4 steps:

1) Selection of the publication: the indicated text must be part of the humanities or social sciences, have been revised (except for research papers) and help to clarify the current pandemic situation (in terms, for example, of economics, social issues or other possibilities).

Publications can be in any language, since the library will be multilingual.

2) Addition of the publication to the project's Zotero library.

The contributor must join the group "Beyond Covid-19" in Zotero, add a reference in the "New" folder. It is important to detail the language field and the keywords.

3) Write a reading note: the note needs to include three parts, answering three questions:

- What is the content of the publication (summary)?

- What is the context of the publication (author, approach used etc)?

- How can the publication shed light on the current situation?

The reading note can be written in any language and can be made directly in Zotero, adding it to the "Notes" field in the bibliographic reference and transferring it to the "Notes" folder in the group.

4. Submit your note

The note can be sent via an online form or by sending an email to covid19@operas-eu.org. You must specify in the message your name, affiliation (if you have one) and link to your personal profile in the preferred network (personal, academic, professional). The editorial team of the OPERAS project will review the note, edit it if necessary and publish it with your signature and a Creative Commons CC-BY license.

Other possibilities: If you do not use Zotero, you can send the reference and the note by email to the project team. It is also possible to suggest references without writing notes, or just write notes for library references that do not already have them. It is still possible to propose translations of written notes and send them by email. You can also offer your help to manage the editorial process or make any other proposal.

The project is managed by the OPERAS coordination team and volunteers.

Write and contribute: covid19@operas-eu.org.
