Francisco Mendes, student of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra (UC) and Judo athlete of Associação Académica de Coimbra (AAC/Coimbra Students’ Union), has won the gold medal in the category of -60kg in Judo, in the sixth edition of the European Universities Games (EUSA) that are being held in Lodz, Poland from the 17th to the 30th July.
The UC and AAC are represented in the games by athletes of table tennis, judo, women's football, karate, swimming and taekwondo.
The 2018 edition was held in Coimbra, at the UC.
