Science Route

The ‘Science Route’ programme covers more than 80 points of interest distributed between Largo da Portagem, Praça 8 de Maio and Praça do Comércio, which include hands-on activities, visits, dances, experiments and demonstrations, where scientists will make their science known to the public.

The European Researchers' Night also offers prizes and experiences in downtown Coimbra. Whenever they visit one of the 85 Research Points, participants will be able to scan a QR code and register at that point. The more points they visit, the better the prize they can win, from dinners, snacks, ice creams, escape rooms and discs, among others.

All of NEI's activities are made possible thanks to the work of around 65 PhD students/volunteers, 600 researchers from 30 UC Research and Development units, museums, science centres, cultural entities, artists and services, as well as around 65 shopkeepers in downtown Coimbra.
