Soapbox Science Coimbra

Soapbox Science is a global science communication initiative that aims to promote women and their science by transporting the knowledge they produce to public places, promoting scientific learning and debate, as well as the diversity and quality of science.

"SoapBox" is a concept that emerged around 1870 in the city of London and concerned debates that took place in the open air and where the speakers climbed onto wooden boxes carrying soap. In this way, they stood out from the crowd and could easily be heard.
