On 20 November, a group of almost 30 women researchers from the UC met for the 2nd Complementary Session of the Women Researchers@UC Bootcamp. Under the guidance of Professor Helena Marujo and Clara Barata, Science Manager at the UC Strategic Areas Centre (NAE-UC), using the dynamic World Café format and following the precepts of the positive psychology model, the researchers exchanged ideas in eight groups. The groups changed with each round of questions, challenging the women researchers to think about and propose solutions to empower more women to submit research project applications for European funding, such as the ERC (European Research Council) and other internationally renowned projects.

After four rounds of debates and proposals, each group host presented the solutions she and her colleagues had devised to the four questions they were invited to reflect on. The result revealed an inspiring set of ideas aimed at strengthening the role of women in cutting-edge research.
Closing the session, the participants gathered at Casa da Pedra for a relaxed and valuable networking moment. This session marks the last of a pair of complementary events organised as part of the Women Researchers@UC Bootcamp, part of the GendER@UC EEA Grants project. This project raises awareness of gender equality in UC research and academia.
