Cultural heritage, citizenship and development
This module will cover the fundamentals of cultural heritage and its potential for promoting cultural diversity and social cohesion in contemporary societies. This is not technical training, but awareness-raising that can contribute to the work of various areas, including managers and teaching professionals. Syllabus
- Definitions and categories of cultural heritage (tangible, intangible, movable, immovable, integrated, cultural landscapes, etc.);
- Fundamental concepts for the identification and attribution of values to heritage (documentary, historical, identity values, authenticity, integrity, and exceptionality);
- Management tools and social participation;
- Threats and challenges related to social, environmental, and economic issues;
- Connection to human rights, the promotion of a culture of peace, and sustainable development.
