It will be a free training but the number of participants will be limited to 25.

Registration can be made here.

If the number of registered participants exceeds the limit, a second edition of the course will be considered.

SUMMARY OF THE TRAINING

The Open Science Training: Pathways for Practice at UC aims to raise awareness, in the UC community, of the relevant contribution that Open Science is and of the commitments that must be made by institutions and projects, according to the requirements of the European Commission's research and innovation programmes, regarding data management during research and the conditions of access to publications. It also aims to disseminate the work that has already been done at the UC, with the development and management of its institutional open access repository, aligned with European recommendations and the National Open Science Policy.

The team of trainers is composed by Caroline Delmazo, responsible for communication and management of the ReSEED Project, funded by the European Research Council, and Ana Miguéis, librarian and coordinator of the Services and Integrated Management Systems Area of BGUC, both with training in this subject area.

The programme consists of two modules:

Module 1: Open Science - concept, doubts and paths to practice (Trainer: Caroline Delmazo).

Module 2: General Study - UC's open access digital repository (Trainer: Ana Miguéis). Contains several moments of interaction with trainees throughout the session, a group activity (1st module) and individual practical activities (2nd module).

For the selection of the 25 trainees to integrate this first group, a target audience was defined consisting of doctoral students, in which the preferential criteria are: the existence of an FCT grant, attendance of the last years of the course, proportional distribution by organic units/research centres and doctoral courses, the answers given to the open questions that follow in the questionnaire.
