Mobility of early-career researchers: France-Portugal Hubert Curien Partnership 2023 'Pessoa' Programme | 9 June 2022
The Hubert Curien Partnership programme has as its main objective the implementation of scientific and technological exchange of excellence between research laboratories in the two countries, favouring the emergence of new teams and new cooperation themes. The initiative provides funding to cover the costs of the reciprocal mobility of research collaborators between France and Portugal. It is jointly managed by Campus France and Portugal's Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Eligible joint research teams involve researchers from each country belonging to research groups affiliated to higher education institutions or research organisations; companies can participate in the project provided they are associated with an academic partner. The Hubert Curien programme focuses on early-stage researchers, and project activities are expected to include research visits by PhD students and/or early-stage post-doctoral fellows. The Portuguese teams must include junior researchers, and the non-inclusion of young researchers in the Portuguese team is an eliminatory factor. The presentation of the work plan of the young researchers is mandatory. The funding is strictly for the mobility of researchers participating in the projects: travel expenses and accommodation of the Portuguese team in France. The amount granted to each project varies between 2,500 and 7,000 euros on the French side plus an average of 4,000 euros on the Portuguese side in total over the two years.
Collaborations will be funded for two years each, and can be in any discipline. Applications must be submitted in parallel by French and Portuguese teams through their respective administrators. The joint deadline for submitting applications to the 2023 programme is 9 June 2022. Results will be announced in November 2022, with projects due to start in January 2023.
