The third session of the 2025 iiiUC Training - Research Support Tools is dedicated to the topic Ethics in Research. The training will be led by João Emanuel Diogo, member of the Laboratory of Rationality and Applied Ethics and researcher at the Centre for Classical and Humanistic Studies and the Institute for Philosophical Studies of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra.
The session aims to:
- Understand what ethics is and how it applies to research;
- Understand the different ethical models;
- Identify ethical problems in the several stages of research: idea, proposal, execution, evaluation;
- Apply the different models in response to the ethical problems identified;
- Emphasise the dialogical character of ethical decision-making;
- Know, understand and fulfil the requests of ethics committees;
- Understand the ethical implications for research centres (management ethics) and in funding applications.
This training will take place on March 27th, 2025 at 2:30 pm.
This iiiUC event is online, in Portuguese and open to the entire University of Coimbra community.
