The second session of the 2022/2023 academic year of the iiiUC Trainings: Research Support Tools, is dedicated to the Estudo Geral 2.0: a destination for your research results. The session will be led by Ana Miguéis from the Geral Library of the University of Coimbra.

This session aims to present the Estudo Geral, the digital repository of the University of Coimbra, in a perspective directed to researchers.

The central questions that will be answered are:

  • What is the Estudo Geral?
  • What is the purpose of this tool?
  • What benefits result from its use?

It has become urgent to know and use the tools that the University of Coimbra makes available to its members, particularly to its researchers, such as the Estudo Geral. The Estudo Geral is the digital repository of the University of Coimbra that was created with the aim of preserving, disseminating and providing access to the scientific production of the University, increasing its visibility and that of its researchers. It has more than 53,000 deposited documents, is integrated in RCAAP (Open Access Scientific Repository of Portugal) and has been subject to some improvements and new features, always ensuring interoperability with other systems.

Throughout this session we will make a presentation of the Estudo Geral, emphasising its most recent components and addressing aspects of the use of this tool:

  • Compliance with Open Access policies
  • Structure and organisation
  • Deposit processes
  • Generating indicators
  • Filling of researcher profiles
  • Use of other identifiers
  • Association to research centres
  • Association to projects

We hope, in the end, to have contributed to the affirmation of the importance of the digital repository Estudo Geral in the dissemination of scientific research carried out by the UC, and in the visibility of its researchers as active members of this dynamic.

The training takes place next 22nd November, Tuesday, at 14h30 and extends until 16h00.

This iiiUC event is online, in Portuguese and open to the entire University of Coimbra Community.
