On April 10, a working meeting was held at the rectory of the Mandume Ya Ndemufayo University (UMN, Lubango) with the participation of the UMN Vice Rector Prof. Francisco Maiato, the GEODES project coordinator and members of the UMN project team. They discussed some of the implementation difficulties and the strategies that can be adopted to achieve the objectives of GEODES. Pedro Dinis took the opportunity to offer to UMN, on behalf of the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of Coimbra, a collection of rock thin sections to be used for geoscience education activities at this institution.
