Closing Conference of the Graduate Program in Social Economy, Cooperativism, Mutualism and Solidarity will take place on the 12th of May.

On the 12th of May, at 2:30 pm, in room 4.4 of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra (FEUC), the conference will be held to mark the end of the academic year of the Postgraduate course in Social Economy: cooperativism, mutualism and Solidarity.

The conference, entitled “The Social Economy and the transformation of the State - reflections for the future of cooperation”, is given by Paulo Pedroso, Professor at ISCTE, University Institute of Lisbon.


The Postgraduate course in “Social Economy – cooperativism, mutualism and solidarity” is promoted, within the framework of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra, by the respective Center for Cooperative Studies and Social Economy (CECES/FEUC), which since 1981 deals with cooperativism and which, since the mid-1990s, has extended the scope of its activity to the social economy as a whole.

The objective of this postgraduate course is to study the various areas of social economy from a multidisciplinary perspective, with emphasis on those with a more historically marked identity and a clearer social importance, such as cooperatives, mutual societies and private institutions. of social solidarity as a whole.
